   The Victoria Fire Department operates 6 fire stations throughout the City and a fire marshal’s office. Firefighters and

EMTs provide fire, medical and rescue services to residents of both the City of Victoria and Victoria County.
Municipal Court, 107 W. Juan Linn, 361.485.3050

   The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over Class C Misdemeanors and some other fine-only state law violations,
including municipal ordinances such as traffic tickets and fines. Municipal Court is located adjacent to City Hall.
Victoria Public Library, 302 N. Main St., 361.485.3302

   Victoria Public Library supports and nurtures readers of all ages, accessing information, satisfying curiosity and
celebrating the diverse heritage and cultures of our community. The Library offers a wide variety of services including
access to reading, listening and viewing materials for all ages, Internet and free Wifi, events for all ages with a special
focus on children’s literacy and summer reading. Patrons can access downloadable books and audio, full text of
magazines, newspapers, genealogy resources and auto repair guides from the Library’s website. The Library is open
Mon.- Thurs. from 9 am to 8 pm, Friday from 9 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Parks & Recreation, 476 McCright Dr., 361.485.3200

   The Parks & Recreation Department maintains 16 parks, a 4-Field Adult Softball Complex, a 12-Field Youth Sports
Complex, Community Center, Splash Pads, Amphitheater and a Skate Park. The Department offers recreational events,
sports and leisure events throughout the entire year such as Market Days, the Christmas Lighted Parade, and adult
softball and kickball leagues. Other popular sports played locally include little league, softball and soccer for boys and
girls of all ages.
Permits/Building Inspections, 700 Main Center, Ste. 128, 361.485.3320

   The Development Center is responsible for the issuance of all permits ranging from building/remodeling to plumbing
and signs. All construction within the city limits must secure a building permit. Inspections are conducted to verify
compliance with all applicable codes and state and Federal rules, laws and regulations.
Police Department, 306 S. Bridge, 361.485.3700

   The Victoria Police Department reduces crime and the fear of crime by providing police services in partnership with
the community. The VPD desires to treat all persons with dignity, respect, courtesy and compassion while providing
citizens and visitors to our City with the highest professional law enforcement.
Public Works, 700 Main Center, Ste. 107, 361.485.3381

   The Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining the City’s infrastructure, including water and sewer
lines, streets, storm water drainage, sidewalks, traffic signs and signals, and for designing and managing various City
construction projects.

   The Public Works Department also operates and maintains the City’s water supply and treatment/wastewater
treatment systems, and enforces regulations governing the industrial pretreatment of wastewater and storm water runoff.
Solid Waste Collection, 1701 SW Ben Jordan, 361.485.3220

   Solid Waste is a division of the Environmental Services Department. The primary responsibility of Solid Waste is to
collect the City’s residential garbage and operation of the city’s recycling efforts. The City offers residents a Curbside
Recycling and a Household Hazardous Waste Program. The Department is also responsible for a compost facility,
collection of yard waste, brush and large, bulky items.
